DIRK Nowitzki, playing with an injured left hand, sparked an unlikely recovery as the Dallas Mavericks won Game II of the NBA Finals series.
Nowitzki put aside the discomfort of the torn tendon in his left hand to score the game-winning basket.
The German scored a layup with 3.6 seconds remaining – using his injured left hand – to seal a 95-93 win against the Miami Heat in front of a stunned crowd in Miami.
The Mavs were down 15 points with six minutes left in the fourth quarter and looked out of the game before launching an amazing 20-2 run.
The best-of-seven series is now tied at one apiece.
